Kite buggying - boarding: Les Hemmes, France Wind Direction: W Wind Stength: Surf / Sea State: Air Temperature: 18 Sea Temperature: Weather: Cloudy Max Speed: 37 (knots - unless stated otherwise) Distance Covered: 28 (Nautical Miles - unless stated otherwise)
Arrrived at the land yacht club car park at 1130 to light winds, 3
buggiers
out but barely moving, had some lunch and then went out, foolishly decided
I
could buggy out over the wet sand to save the walk. Setup the 7.5m and
launched and spent 200m going sideways on wet claggy clay/mud, the buggy
slid too much at one point and then the kite powered up and I got pulled
out
and dragged on my bum across the mud, the result was me and the kite
covered
in mud. Dragged the buggy and kite out to the harder sand, managed to
relaunch but wind had built and I was overpowered, had a few overpowered
runs to dry the kite a bit. Changed down to 2.2m and towd the tandem about
for a bit, went out to the water tower and saw the seals, headed back,
unhitched the tandem and then got some good speeds on the 3.4m. There was
another guy also on a Predator so had some runs against him comfortably
going faster than him.
